Synopsis
Most European markets will close early today, UK and Ireland at 12:30GMT, Germany at 14:00CET, Euronext will close at normal hours. Futures indicate a firmer open at year-end. Asian markets mixed. Japanese markets softer. Hang Seng flat.
Very quiet with approach to year-end and nothing new from a narrative perspective. Central bank rate cut expectations, soft landing momentum and easing financial conditions continues to underpin markets.
US equities finished mostly higher in very quiet, rangebound Thursday trading.
