    • European equity markets are set for firmer open as Asian equity markets trade mixed. Japan outperforming with Nikkei nearing 13-month high. Korea pulling back while Greater China, Australia and Taiwan little changed.

    • US equities were higher in Thursday trading. Stocks ended near best levels with major averages on pace for solid weekly gains. S&P 500 and Nasdaq both ended less than 0.1% from record closes.

    • Comments from European Commission President von der Leyen, who said they were assessing the latest US tariff offer. EU leaders discussed Thursday whether to accept a quick deal rather than holding out for a perfect one, even if that means that some tariffs remain in place. Reports highlighted that Brussels is considering lower tariffs on some US imports to reach a quick deal.

    • In central banks, Bank of France's Villeroy speech at award ceremony and presentation of report on banking inclusion. Bank of Portugal economic forum at 11:00CET on challenges in the analysis of public finances in Portugal. Bank of Finland's Rehn speech at 13:00CET and fireside chat at 14:00 at conf jointly hosted with ESRB on AI (through Sat). Norway PM Støre semi-annual summary press conf at 11:00CET. Germany's Chancellor Merz hosts Austrian Chancellor Stocker, a joint press conf. is planned afterward.

    • On economic front, French and Spanish inflation data due, Italian business confidence and Eurozone economic sentiment data also on the agenda.
