    • European indices are set to open lower as Asian indices also trade lower. Switzerland is closed today, 1-August, due to the Swiss National Day holiday

    • Trade the focus today. Ahead of 1-Aug deadline White House provided list of tariff rates for several countries. Those on the list yet to reach trade deals face specified tariff rates, while some not on list get baseline 10% reciprocal tariff. Trump hiked Canada fentanyl tariffs to 35% from 25% (which he had threatened to do). Earlier, Trump said Mexico getting 90-day extension due to related work on US border dynamics.

    • On macro front, Eurozone CPI due. Early focus in UK on weaker business confidence survey from Institute of Directors, which contrasts with strong reading from LLoyds Bank barometer on Thursday.

    • Data published earlier today: UK Jul Nationwide House Prices +2.4% y/y vs consensus +2.1% and prior +2.1%

    • Today sees the publication by EBA at 18:00CET of the 2025 EU-wide stress test results. Is the deadline for US-EU trade deal. Chancellor Merz travels to Saarland as part of his inaugural visit to all federal states, whilst European Court of Justice rules at 10:00CET on damages claims in the diesel scandal. Also, Norway's PM Støre participates in the Adressa conversation at 14:00CET at an event in Trondheim as well as in an open public meeting in Røros. There's the release of France, Italy, Spain Jul new car registrations.
