Synopsis
European equity markets are set for a positive open amidst mostly lower Asia equities Wednesday. Hong Kong leading with sharp gains in a tech-driven rally as mainland China swung positive. Japan leaning to losses and most other benchmarks weaker. US contracts softened marginally though still generally little changed following moderate overnight losses that saw S&P and Nasdaq fading slightly off Monday's record highs; Nasdaq 100 index was down after nine straight days of gains.
US President Trump is set to meet King Charles in Windsor Castle as part of his first full day during second state visit.
In central banks, ECB's Lagarde speech at 9:30CET at 10th ECB Annual Research Conf. and Cipollone speech at 13:15 at Netherlands central bank's Resilience Conf. Croatia central bank's Vujčić panellist at 11:30 CET at event organised by Croatian trade unions topic "The impact of inflation and interest rates on wage policy and the position of employees in the Republic of Croatia". Bundesbank's Nagel speech at 19:00CET at event hosted by Harvard Clubs of Germany.
