Synopsis
European equity markets set to open mixed, following last week's losses when the Stoxx Europe 600 fell (2.9%). Note Finland and Sweden markets likely to play some catch up as they were closed on Friday.
Focus on developments in Russia over the weekend after Wagner boss Yevgeniy Prigozhin's aborted advance on Moscow. Press takeaways largely concurred insurrection attempt has weakened President Putin's grip on power. Putin yet to make a public appearance since the withdrawal and details about agreement brokered by Belarusian President Lukashenko remain unknown. From a market perspective, Prigozhin's abrupt withdrawal has avoided potential bloodshed scenario that was cited a negative risk factor.
