Removal of the election overhang another widely discussed positive, particularly with the pickup in defensive positioning in recent weeks. US strategists have also repeatedly talked up very favorable seasonality into year-end, particularly in election years. November third-best month of the year from an equity inflow perspective. Europe digesting implications for trade, economic outlook and central bank policy.

    • Several sell-side banks warning weakness likely to extend over coming months to reach euro dollar parity. While Trump's position on trade is thought to fuel inflation and could curb the Fed, it may weigh heavily on Eurozone activity. Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs among those updating ECB terminal rate forecasts of 1.75% by July 2025 versus prior 2.00% amid Trump's policy agenda. Sees Trump tariffs cutting 0.3% off the 2025 growth rate. Note, ECB has emphasized importance of price stability, but back-to-back cuts in September and October has seen policy debate beginning to consider implications weaker growth could have on inflation outlook. Some thoughts euro could also underperform versus sterling. Analysts highlight UK less exposed to Trump tariffs compared with Eurozone because of the focus on exports of services rather than goods.
