Synopsis
European equity markets are set to open mixed to lower. Asia equities trading mixed Monday amid thin volumes. Greater China benchmarks turning higher after a flat-to-lower opening, New Zealand higher but Australia lagging once again. Kospi recovering some ground, India and Singapore a few points higher. Japan lower as tech stocks weigh, Taiwan also down. US futures slightly lower. Dollar flat, AUD and NZD notably stronger, yen weaker again. Treasuries mixed. Crude oil, precious and base metals all slightly higher. Cryptocurrencies continuing their recent correction.
In political developments, Italian parliament approved the government's 2025 budget on Saturday.

Very quiet in terms of corporate updates. Atari, Inc. (ALATA.FP) reported H1 numbers Friday after the close. There are no earnings scheduled today. In pharma sector, Novartis (NOVN.SW) announced phase III STEER study of OAV101 IT met primary endpoint. During the weekend, BayWa (BYW6.GR) announced agreement on restructuring, to hold €150M capital increase and to sell its stake in RWA Raiffeisen Ware Austria for €176M. On the speculation front, holders warned Smith & Nephew (SN.LN)CEO Deepak Nath his time is limited, Mail on Sunday reported.
