Trump's memorandum ordering trade investigation in lieu of immediate tariffs was also welcomed with economists downplaying tariff threat this week. Still, developments underline uncertainty surrounding tariff implementation and market sensitivity to Trump's off-the-cuff remarks.

    • Tech-led gains in US overnight with Nasdaq outperforming main indexes and SOX reaching highest since mid-July. Focus was largely on AI theme following Tuesday's Stargate announcement. Street positive on announcement, describing it as a tailwind for broader AI universe/secular growth theme. ~NFLX~ another notable gainer following earnings with analyst takeaways focused on strong net adds, ad growth, margin expansion and price increases.

South Korea Q4 GDP growth missed amid weaker consumption. Samsung Electronics (~005930.KS~) revealed S25 phone line up overnight, featuring heavier focus on AI integration with minor design changes. SK Hynix (~000660.KS~) operating profit in0-line with group remaining bullish on HBM demand. Korea Zinc (~010130.KS~) investors to vote on new board structure and strategy at special meeting Thursday.
