    • European indices are set to open higher as Asian equities trade lower Friday with Japan down over 3% while Greater China markets have clawed back losses.

    • US equities were sharply lower in Thursday trading, though ended off worst levels. However, S&P and Nasdaq still on track for healthy weekly gains Wednesday's 9.5% rally for the S&P and 12% surge in the Nasdaq 100.

    • Stocks gave back some of their monster Wednesday rally, a good chunk of which was chalked up to oversold conditions/positioning/short covering. While Trump pause on higher reciprocal tariffs a key off-ramp, trade policy volatility expected to remain an overhang.
