    • Positive leads for Asia after a Monday rebound in US that was chalked up to signs of de-escalation in US-China trade tensions following signals from both sides they remain open to negotiations. Treasury Secretary Bessent added that Trump and Xi still planning to meet at APEC this month. Market sentiment underpinned further by a tech rally with SOX index up 5% following latest OpenAI deal announcement. China stocks also tracking for decent rebound after Nasdaq Golden Dragon index rose 3%.

    • Japan markets resume trade following eventful three-day stretch involving ramp in US-China trade tensions and fallout from collapse of ruling coalition. Futures fell 5% in Friday's session but have since recovered in-line with Monday's rebound following off-ramp signals from US and China. Strategists flagged headwinds to equities from unwinding of Takaichi trades amid the renewed political uncertainty. A weakened LDP more dependent on opposition parties to pass legislation also seen a negative for JGBs amid accompanying rise in fiscal expansion risks.

    • In corporate developments, Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) preliminary Q3revenue and operating profit comfortably ahead of expectations, reinforcing positive sentiment around outlook for memory chips. Other major news was AVGO and OpenAI announcing partnership on 10 gigawatt deployment of custom chips. On economic front, India inflation eased in-line with forecasts to eight-year low, though skewed by GST cut. In other trade news, Indian officials visiting US for more talks this week.
