    • Positive leads for Asian tech from recovery in US where SOX rose 3%. US tech stocks shook off recent concerns about stretched valuations, big tech index concentration, narrow breadth and AI capex ramp, with buy-the-dip narrative proving resilient amid elevated retail buying. Tech earnings continue to roll through afterhours QCOM -3% guiding Q1 revenue above forecasts (albeit short of loftiest expectations), reflecting smartphone demand. ARM +3% Q3 revenue and profit guidance beat estimates, reflecting growing data center demand.

    • In other overnight developments, SCOTUS justices voiced skepticism about legality behind Trump's IEEPA tariffs, raising concerns about steeper yield curve from an unfavorable ruling given budget revenue consideration. Better-than-expected ADP private payrolls and eight-month high in ISM services helped ease about US macro backdrop. Fed Governor Miran acknowledged ADP payrolls growth but reiterated belief current Fed policy is too restrictive

    • Light day on Asian economic calendar. Japan real wage decline narrowed amid pickup in nominal wages. Australia trade data and Taiwan CPI due later while Malaysia central bank expected to keep rates unchanged. On corporate front, National Australia Bank (NAB.AU) missed on bottom line while underlying NIM shrunk slightly. Mitsubishi Motors (7211.JP) Q2 result marred by decline in vehicle sales though guided FY operating income above FactSet consensus.
