BNY collects fees from DR holders pursuant to the terms and conditions of the DRs and any deposit agreement under which they are issued.  From time to time, BNY may make payments to an issuer to reimburse and/or share revenue from the fees collected from DR holders, or waive fees and expenses to an issuer for services provided, generally related to costs and expenses arising out of establishment and maintenance of the DR program.  BNY may pay a rebate to brokers in connection with unsponsored DR issuances; brokers may or may not disclose or pass back some or all of such rebate to the DR investor.  BNY may also use brokers, dealers or other service providers that are affiliates and that may earn or share fees and commissions.

  • Synopsis:

    • Asian markets set for quiet start to Wednesday trade. Final trading day of 2025 likely to feature thin volumes with Japan and South Korea markets closed. Hong Kong tracking for flat open with Australia unchanged in initial trade. S&P 500 futures unchanged afterhours. Australian bond yields up marginally after Treasuries saw minor curve steepening following FOMC minutes. FX markets steady after yuan broke through 7-per dollar for first time since Sep-2024. More commodity volatility with gold, silver and platinum veering sharply lower in late trade. Crude also edging down. Bitcoin continues to fluctuate below $90K.

    • Not much in way of leads with US equities declining amid absence of seasonal tailwinds this week. Few surprises from FOMC minutes, which highlighted policymaker caution about further rate cuts in 2026. Release did little to change January rate cut odds with futures pricing in ~85% chance of a hold. Market also processed another batch of AI headlines with SoftBank (9984.JP) reportedly completing $40B investment in OpenAI and NVDA reportedly in talks to acquire Israel startup AI21 Labs.

    • China official manufacturing PMI forecast to show factory activity shrunk at similar pace to November's 49.2 reading. RatingDog manufacturing PMI also forecast to show little change to prior month's 49.9. Official non-manufacturing PMI forecast at 49.6, little changed from November's 49.5. With China's economic weakness deepening, stimulating domestic demand will be key policy target in 2026. In other economic news, South Korea inflation eased in-line with expectations, though likely not enough to sway BOK from holding stance.
