    • European indices are set to open slightly higher with Asian equities trading mostly higher. Strength led by Japan, mainland China and South Korea, all on track for sharp weekly gains.

    • US equities finished mostly higher in Thursday trading. Breadth was notably positive with equal-weight S&P outperforming the benchmark by more than 110 bp

    • Markets continue to monitor Venezuela developments and potential repercussions to other regions (Greenland, Ukraine/Russia and Japan/China in the mix as well).

    • In central banks, SNB preliminary 2025 results at 7:15CET and Czech central bank releases minutes of last MPC meeting. Denmark central bank releases its latest lending survey at 8:00CET. Denmark's Economic Society holds its annual meeting (through Sat), speakers include ECB's Lane 13:45CET and Denmark central bank Krogstrup speech at 12:00, panellist at 14:00. Chancellor Merz will attend the New Year's reception hosted by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
