    • Attention centers on diplomacy and domestic politics. Meeting currently taking place at the White House between Greenland and Danish foreign ministers and US Vice President Vance and Secretary of State Rubio, amid President Trump's insistence that Greenland is vital to US national security and that anything less than American control of the territory is "unacceptable". Meanwhile, on the domestic front in France, Prime Minister Lecornu is confronting two no-confidence motions linked to the EU-Mercosur trade agreement, although their adoption is considered improbable.

    • On the monetary policy front, BoE dove Taylor expects inflation to return to 2% by mid-2026, arguing that US tariffs will have a disinflationary impact through trade diversion, as cheaper Chinese exports are redirected toward the UK and EU.

Fresenius Medical Care (FME.GR) reiterated expectations for US volumes to recover but also flags additional headwinds at J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference. • In rumoured M&A deals, HSBC Holdings (HSBA.LN) reportedly considering selling its Singapore insurance business while BAWAG (BG.AV) is understood to be in exclusive negotiations to buy Finance Ireland in deal that values the business at estimated €250M to €300M. Also, Telefonica (TEF.SM) opened talks to acquire Vodafone Spain (ZEG.LN). Separately, the group is exploring options to repatriate profits accumulated over the past two decades that remain trapped in Venezuela.
