    • European equity markets are set for a mixed open, with UK and France indicated to open higher and Germany lower. Asia equities seeing more gains Wednesday. Japan stocks extending its rally as speculation over a snap general election grows. Greater China stocks turning lower as authorities moving to raise margin finance ratio to dampened enthusiasm. South Korea and Taiwan seeing fresh gains, Australia marginally higher. India flat, Singapore a point or two lower. US futures are lower.

    • Foreign ministers of Greenland and Denmark will meet US VP Vance and US Secretary of State Rubio at the White House on Wed for talks on Greenland. Greenland PM Nielsen told a joint press conf with Danish PM Frederiksen on Tue that the island will not be owned or governed by Washington but wants a peaceful dialogue with focus on cooperation.

    • In politics, Chancellor Merz will deliver an economic policy speech and subsequently participate in a discussion with the Minister of Economic Affairs of Saxony-Anhalt, Sven Schulze, at event hosted by Halle-Dessau Chamber of Industry and Commerce, others. In UK, after MPs questions on Scotland, weekly PMQs begins at 12noon GMT, whilst committee topics include drought preparedness at 10:00 and building support for the energy transition at 15:00.

    • In central banks, BOE's Taylor speech at 8:00GMT at the National Univ. of Singapore 'Driving over the peak - or a false summit', ECB's de Guindos speech at 9:20CET at Spain Investors Day 2026 (through Thu) and BOE's Ramsden speech at 15:30GMT at King's College London 'The evolution of resolution'. Poland central bank interest rate decision. Bank of Italy releases survey on expectations for inflation and growth. The 4.0% benchmark interest rate is expected to be left unchanged. Hungary central bank releases minutes of last MPC meeting.

    • A quiet macro front sees Finland Dec CPI on the agenda.

    • In earnings, Orion (ORNBV.FH) released guidance for FY26 and estimates annual Nubeqa net sales has potential to exceed €1B in the future. Rockwool (ROCK.B.DC) confirmed press report that Russia has taken control of the company's four factories in the country; the Russian business reported revenue and EBIT of €261M and €78M respectively in FY25. In Southern Europe, Jeronimo Martins (JMT.PL) reported preliminary Q4 revenue €9.46B vs StreetAccount €9.41B.
