    • European equity markets are set for a mostly higher open amidst Asia equities rallying Wednesday as crude prices slide: Japan's two major benchmarks gapped higher and will close near their highs with gains in a broad rally. Greater China boards paring early losses to trade mostly higher with Hong Kong AI-listed stocks outperforming. More very strong gains for the Kospi and Taiex, Australia, Singapore and Southeast Asia all higher. India also trading up. US futures trading higher.

    • Markets on a more stable footing this week as conflict in Iran continues with more discussions about economic impact of energy supply disruptions. More Iranian leaders killed by Israel while Tehran struck new energy targets across Middle East. While US allies have mostly baulked at Trump's request to protect shipping through Strait, there have also been reports of Iran allowing some ships to transit, Saudi Arabia redirecting flows via Red Sea pipelines, and China and India increasing purchases from Russia, seemingly helping to contain crude prices this week.

    • In Switzerland, SECO releases its latest economic forecast. In politics, EU Tripartite Social Summit, EU's von der Leyen participates. In the morning, Chancellor Merz chairs regular Cabinet meeting, that will see the participation of France's minister for Europe and foreign affairs, Barrot. In the afternoon, Merz will deliver a government statement in the German Bundestag on the upcoming European Council meeting. In the UK, weekly PMQs begin at 12noon GMT followed by opposition day debate (subject tba) whilst committee topics include achieving and measuring transport integration at 9:15, transition to State Pension age at 9:30 and UK's future relationship with the US at 11:30. Handelsblatt Conf on Banking Supervision (through Thu), speakers include ECB's Machado at 9:40CET, Bundesbank's Theurer at 10:05. Bruegel / Journée de l'Économie event at 14:40CET title 'Can we save Europe?'.

    • In central banks, ECB publishes at 13:30CET Annual Report on supervisory activities 2025 and ECB's Buch makes introductory statement at 14:30CET at EP committee hearing (livestream). Iceland interest rate decision is expected to see no change in the 7.25% benchmark interest rate.

    • Macro data include Eurozone Feb final CPI, Austria Feb final CPI, Portugal Feb PPI

    • In earnings, from the DACHs region HelloFresh (HFG.GR) reported Q4 EBIT €103.9M ex-items vs FactSet €114.1M and expects FY26 constant currency AEBITDA to decline compared with FY25 whilst TAG Immobilien (TEG.GR), thyssenkrupp nucera (NCH2.GR) and Stadler Rail (SRAIL.SW) also released results.
