Japan core inflation weakened below 2% as expected, reflecting subsidies. Ex-energy inflation slowed by less than expected. Japan's Rengo issued preliminary tally for 2026 shunto wage hikes, which came in at 5.26% and mostly in-line with 2025's initial print.
