    • Asian markets set for positive start to Wednesday trade. Futures signaling opening gains in Hong Kong and Australia. Mainland China and South Korea markets resume trade while Japan remains closed. S&P 500 futures gaining afterhours. Australian bond yields down slightly after Treasuries firmed Tuesday. Crude pressured by Trump pausing Project Freedom. Dollar weakening. Gold and silver lifting while Bitcoin steady near late January highs.

    • President Trump pausing Project Freedom, citing progress towards comprehensive agreement with Iran. Blockade will remain in place. US launched 'Project Freedom' on Monday in aim of facilitating movement of commercial vessels in Strait though ships were met with Iranian fire and UAE was subject to drone and missile attacks. Trump's pause has weighed on crude after futures spiked Monday amid flare-up of tensions. US said offensive phase of war over with focus now on reopening Strait of Hormuz. However, two sides seemingly no closer to bridging wide gaps on nuclear issue and Hormuz, leaving status quo intact.

    • AI compute and capex demand underpinning bullish AI narrative with AMD up 11% in postmarket trade after guiding Q2 revenue above forecasts. Long-term growth projections revised with data center CPU market seen growing more than 35% annually by 2030 vs November estimate of 18%. Targeting annual data center AI growth more than 80% in coming years. SOX index up 4% Tuesday, providing positive lead for Asian semis with memory stocks already up strongly over week-to-date.
