Synopsis
European indices are set to open lower as Asian equities trade mixed Wednesday. South Korea swinging between gains and losses following early bounce. Taiwan under pressure. Losses picking up in Taiwan and Japan. Greater China indexes little changed. S&P 500 futures flat afterhours.
US equities were lower in Tuesday trading as stocks ended a bit off worst levels. However, breadth slightly positive, while equal-weight S&P 500 (RSP) outperformed cap-weighted index by ~110 bp. Momentum/memory/semis under outsized pressure; Big Tech mostly lower though NVDA, TSLA fared worst.
Nothing really incremental on the Middle East, fitting with market interest in moving past geopolitics.
Wednesday sees, in central banks, Bundesbank's Nagel speech at 11:00CET on the digital euro at event organised by International Bankers Forum
