    • European equity markets closed mostly firmer and near the best levels of the session with the exception of UK (0.1%), Finland (0.1%) and Denmark (0.7%). Telecom, retail and banks were the top performing sectors whilst healthcare, food and beverage and basic resources lagged. Follows last week's positive performance.

Trump said talks would begin Monday and posted parameters of deal have been agreed to. Iran echoed by noting an agreement on Strait of Hormuz close.

    • On macro data front, focus on final manufacturing PMIs. Eurozone reading revised down slightly from flash, UK PMI confirmed at 51.9 versus flash 52.8. German retail sales missed, reflecting ongoing volatility on consumer spending. Swiss inflation slightly softer than expected, though implications for SNB limited with rate within target range.

    • Meanwhile, UK Treasury sources said government determined to stick with fiscal rules after UK PM Burnham and Chancellor Healey wrote to ministers telling them they must stick within existing spending limits while funding new pledges.

    • In busy M&A news, Prysmian (PRI.IM) to acquire Atkore (ATKR) for $95/share in cash, or EV of $3.8B (€3.29B); TotalEnergies (TTE.FP) acquired Shell (SHEL.LN) Renewables Business and sold its 50% stake in a portfolio of developed assets to KKR, while Ageas (AGS.BB) agreed to sells its stake in Maybank Ageas Holdings Berhad to its JV partner Maybank for €1.1B.
