    • Asian markets set mixed start to Monday trade. Futures signaling opening declines in Hong Kong and South Korea, flat start in Japan and initial gains in Australia. S&P 500 futures steady after US indexes snapped run of weekly gains last week. Crude pulling lower after rising towards one-month high. Gold and silver seeing mild decline. FX markets steady after dollar index fell to mid-May lows. Bitcoin up towards mid-May highs.

    • Treasury Secretary Bessent slated to announce latest suite of Iran sanctions on Monday, expected to target countries aiding and trading with Iran. Threat has already invited skepticism about follow-through action against countries like China amid risk of reigniting trade tensions. Pakistan's army chief to visit Iran Monday in bid to revive diplomacy. Iran has so far stuck to its hardline demands before agreeing to reopen Strait of Hormuz though press also highlighting concerns from Tehran's lead negotiators about mounting economic strain from US naval blockade.

    • Earnings season continues this week with Nvidia's results the main event. Meanwhile, Bloomberg sources noted Nvidia has told some of its biggest concerns about price increases of more than 15% for systems featuring Vera Rubin and Grace Blackwell chips. China tech and auto reporters featuring Xpeng (Mon), MiniMax (Wed), Meituan (Fri) and CXMT (Fri). Separately, Alibaba announced $10.2B share placement on Sunday to fund AI capex, coming after earnings takeaways highlighted accelerating Cloud growth while elevated AI spending is constraining near-term profitability.

    • Jackson Hole Symposium headlines economic calendar with Fed Chair Warsh's speech on Friday the key focus. Across Asia BOK meets Thursday amid live prospect for another rate hike. RBA minutes (Tues) will detail board deliberations after Governor Bullock revealed they had considered a rate hike. Australia CPI (Wed) may shape near-near-term rate hike expectations. Tokyo CPI and China industrial profits among the other notable releases.
