    • European indices are set to open lower with Asian equities mixed today. South Korea outperforming with Taiwan semis also higher. Japan and Greater China markets little changed. S&P 500 futures flat afterhours. Bonds mixed Treasury yields up slightly at the front end while JGB yields down 1-2 bp.

    • US equities were lower in Tuesday trading as major averages ended near session lows.

    • Middle East tensions pushing crude hitting three-month high. US struck more Iranian oil tankers near Kharg Island in response to latest IRGC missile attack on US naval warship. Earlier rise in oil came after Houthis launched multi-pronged attack on Saudi cities that also dealt damage to oil facilities. Tit-for-tat cycle raising concerns about a wider escalation while Iran pressing ahead with efforts to extend its claims over Strait of Hormuz.

    • Wednesday sees, in central banks, Poland central bank interest rate decision at 15:00CET. Benchmark interest rate is expected to be left unchanged at 3.75%. Hungary central bank publishes the minutes of the last MPC meeting. Riksbank's Seim lecture at 18:00CET at the Economic Museum title 'What is money?'. ECB's Lagarde, Bundesbank's Nagel speeches at 19:00CET at official dinner of Bundesbank.
