    • European equity markets are set for a negative open amidst mostly lower Asian equities Wednesday. Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea underperforming with AI trade under some pressure. Mainland China remains closed for National Day. S&P 500 futures flat.

    • Oil strengthening following period of stabilization as tracking data highlights rebound in Middle East crude flows. However, reports also highlighting renewed Iranian attacks on tankers transiting Strait of Hormuz and stepped up fighting in Yemen. Oil strength corresponding with upward move in bond yields. Follows overnight rate pullback tabbed in part to Le Pen spending cut promise, though euro and French OAT futures have resumed declines.

    • Norway's finance minister Stoltenberg presents the state budget for 2027 in parliament at 10:00CET, related press conf at 13:00. EU's Hansen participates in a debate in the French Assemblée Nationale and EU's von der Leyen participates in the Summit of Southern European Union countries (MED-9) where French President Macron is also due to attend. EU's Albuquerque speech at the BusinessEurope and European Banking Federation joint event. Chancellor Merz speech/panellist at event for the 80th Anniversary of Handelsblatt and the 100th Anniversary of WirtschaftsWoche.

    • In central banks, Iceland interest rate decision at 9:30BST. No change expected in 8.0% benchmark interest rate. Poland central bank is expected to leave its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.75% with its announcement at 15:00CET whilst Hungary central bank minutes of last MPC meeting. ECB's Cipollone panellist at 7:00CET at event organised by the Central Bank of the Philippines. ECB's Vujčić speech at 9:20CET at the event "The European Commission Bank Competitiveness Report: A Dialogue between EU Policy Makers and the Private Sector". Digital Asset Week London sees BOE's Mills speech at 9:40BST, panellist at 10:00. Denmark central bank's Nødgaard speech at 10:00CET at the Danish Economic Society, Aarhus Univ.
